Seoul's two major theme parks often come up in the same question: with just one day, should you visit Everland or Lotte World? The answer is fairly straightforward because the parks are very different. Everland, in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, is a large outdoor park with South Korea's most popular wooden roller coaster, T Express, and pandas; a visit takes a full day. Lotte World is in Jamsil within Seoul, split evenly between indoor and outdoor areas. It is right outside the subway station, and you can enjoy it on rainy days and in winter. This guide starts with a comparison table, then covers tickets, transport, must-try attractions and fast passes for each park, followed by advice for families with children and visitors short on time. Ticket information and opening hours were verified in 2026/9 against the official Everland, Lotte World and Yongin Everline websites and Korea Tourism Organization pages. Everland uses date-based ticket pricing tiers, so this article explains only the rules; check the official site's announcement for prices on your visit date.

Three questions. Question one: Only half a day or an evening, or rain, snow or a cold snap? Yes: Lotte World, directly linked to Jamsil Station on Lines 2 and 8, Exit 4; Sunday–Thursday 10:00–21:00, Friday–Saturday 10:00–22:00; adult combo ticket 67,000 KRW. No: question two. Want T Express, the wooden coaster, pandas, wildlife and seasonal flowers? Yes: Everland. Suin–Bundang Line to Giheung, then Yongin Everline to Jeondae·Everland; transit card 1,550 KRW; first train 05:30, last 23:30. Tickets have date-based price tiers; check the official site. No: question three. With preschoolers and a stroller, and want less travel time? Yes: Lotte World. Short indoor routes, easy stroller access; evening entry through closing is good value. Magic Pass is limited: buy it first on entry. No: visit both over two days—Everland all day on the first, Lotte World from afternoon to closing on the second. Staying in Jamsil or Gangnam is most convenient. Two boxes below: Everland—arrive at opening, head to T Express first; Q-Pass is limited; outdoor rides close in rain. Lotte World—last entry 1 hour before closing; Atlantis and Gyro Drop have hour-long queues on holidays; Seoul Sky is in the same block.

Everland: Tickets, Transport and Must-Try Attractions

Tickets and Q-Pass

Everland admission is a Day Pass. The official site uses date-based price tiers, so the same ticket costs different amounts on peak-season weekends and off-season weekdays. Adults, youths and children each have their own price; check the official site's announcement for your visit date. You can buy electronic tickets directly through the official site or app and enter using a QR code on your phone. Travel platforms in Taiwan often offer foreign-visitor discount tickets cheaper than those at the gate; before buying, check whether the ticket is tied to a specific date and whether you can reschedule. Q-Pass is a paid fast pass, sold only to that day's park visitors in limited quantities. It is most useful for rides such as T Express, where queues regularly start at an hour, and sells out soon after opening. Check the official site's daily announcement for availability and prices.

Transport: Subway to Yongin Everline, or a Bus from Gangnam

The standard public transport route is to take the Suin–Bundang Line to Giheung Station, then transfer to Yongin Everline and ride to its terminus, Jeondae·Everland Station. Everline has 15 stations in total. From Gangnam, take the Shinbundang Line to Jeongja and transfer to the Suin–Bundang Line; from central Seoul, take Line 2 to Wangsimni or Seolleung and transfer to the Suin–Bundang Line. The Yongin Everline official site lists fares of 1,550 KRW with a transit card and 1,650 KRW for a single-use ticket. Transfers from the subway using T-money follow the standard transfer fare rules. At both Giheung and Jeondae·Everland stations, the first train is at 05:30 and the last at 23:30. Trains run every 3 to 4 minutes during weekday peak hours, every 6 minutes off-peak, and every 6 to 10 minutes on weekends and holidays. After leaving the station, follow the signs to the park shuttle or walk to the entrance; check the official site for shuttle times. If you prefer to avoid transfers, take a direct red metropolitan bus from the Gangnam Station area, such as route 5002, or route 5700 from the direction of Gangbyeon Station. Check Everland's official transport guide for boarding stops, schedules and fares. Groups of four or more can book a taxi or private car directly; prices depend on traffic and the agreed package.

Must-Try Attractions and Seasonal Events

T Express is a wooden roller coaster and has consistently had the park's longest queues since opening in 2008. Head straight there when the park opens, or buy Q-Pass. Amazon Express is a rapids ride that will get you soaked: queue for it in summer, but think carefully in winter. Lost Valley is a safari where you ride an amphibious vehicle to see giraffes and elephants, while Panda World is home to South Korea's only panda family. Both are in the animal zone; schedule them for the morning if you are bringing children. Seasonal flowers are another Everland highlight: tulips in spring, roses in early summer and chrysanthemums in autumn. Dates and details for each flower season, Halloween events in autumn and Christmas events at year-end are announced annually; check the official site's seasonal announcements.

Lotte World: Tickets, Transport and Must-Try Attractions

Tickets and Magic Pass

Lotte World offers combo tickets including the Folk Museum and park-only tickets. The Korea Tourism Organization page lists combo tickets at 67,000 KRW for adults, 58,000 KRW for youths and 50,000 KRW for children, with park-only tickets at 64,000, 56,000 and 49,000 KRW, respectively. Children under 36 months enter free with identification. The official site also offers discounts for evening entry, birthdays and foreign visitors; check its announcement for prices on your visit date. Magic Pass Premium is a paid fast pass available in limited quantities each day. Hour-long queues for popular rides such as Atlantis and Gyro Drop are normal on holidays, making it worth buying on busy days. Check the official site for purchase methods and prices. Combo ticket holders receive the first 3 hours of parking free, followed by 1,000 KRW per 10 minutes; only drivers need to remember this.

Lotte World Tickets, Magic Pass and Seoul Sky Observatory Bundles

Transport: Jamsil Station, Exit 4

Take subway Line 2 or 8 to Jamsil Station. Exit 4 connects directly to the Lotte World entrance without going above ground. From Seoul Station, take Line 4 to Dongdaemun History & Culture Park and transfer to Line 2; from Hongdae or Gangnam, take Line 2 directly. Lotte World Tower, Lotte Department Store and Lotte Mart are all in the same block, within walking distance after your park visit, so you can combine dinner and shopping.

Must-Try Attractions and a Seoul Sky Add-On

The indoor hall's signature rides are French Revolution, an indoor roller coaster, and Pharaoh's Fury, an indoor track ride. On outdoor Magic Island, Atlantis, a roller coaster, Gyro Drop, a free-fall ride, and Gyro Swing are the three big thrill rides. The castle on the lake is a prime photo spot. There is an illuminated parade at night; check the official site's daily announcement for the time. If you want to visit Seoul Sky, the observatory in Lotte World Tower, it is a walk away in the same block. Park-and-observatory bundles are often available; check the official Seoul Sky site for prices and last entry times.

Visiting with Children and Planning Your Time

  • Only half a day or an evening: Lotte World. It is right outside the subway station and stays open until 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, making an afternoon-to-closing visit ideal.
  • A full day and a desire for major outdoor rides: Everland. Arrive at opening, head to T Express first, visit the animal zone around midday, and save seasonal flowers or Halloween events for the evening.
  • With preschoolers: both parks have children's areas, but Lotte World's indoor setting, shorter routes and stroller-friendly paths make it easier. Everland is large and hilly, so be prepared if you bring a stroller.
  • Height restrictions: rides such as T Express, Atlantis and Gyro Drop have minimum height requirements. Check the official site's daily announcement for each ride's requirement in centimeters before queuing, so you do not wait an hour only to be turned away at the entrance.
  • Rain, snow or a cold snap: Lotte World. Everland's outdoor rides close in the rain, with notices posted on its official site.

Before-You-Go Checklist

  • Confirm the day's opening hours and any rides closed for maintenance in the official site's daily announcement.
  • Everland: top up your transit card in advance. Transfer at Giheung to Yongin Everline; the transit-card fare is 1,550 KRW. The last train is at 23:30, so plan your return if you stay until closing.
  • Lotte World: Jamsil Station on Lines 2 and 8, Exit 4. Closing time is 21:00 Sunday–Thursday and 22:00 Friday–Saturday.
  • With children: measure their height beforehand and check each ride's height restrictions. Strollers are easier to use at Lotte World.
  • Q-Pass and Magic Pass are limited; enter at opening if you want to buy one.
